3. Intellectual property and licences
The source code of the app and of this site is free software under the MIT licence (Copyright © 2026 Mehdi Naji). It can be read, modified and audited on GitHub.
The two dictation paths are not under the same terms:
- macOS — Caspr uses the speech recognition interfaces shipped with macOS by Apple Inc.
- ChatGPT — Caspr displays the chatgpt.com website, by OpenAI, with the user's own account and under OpenAI's terms of use. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI; Caspr is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by OpenAI.
The trademarks, logos and visual identity of Lyria Studio and Caspr remain the property of Lyria Studio.
4. Personal data
Caspr has no server and collects no personal data. On the macOS path, your voice never leaves the Mac; on the ChatGPT path, it goes through the user's ChatGPT account, to OpenAI. Details are in the privacy policy.
